A little About Us

Living Word Ministries to Haitians is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the people of Haiti. The organization was founded by Patrick and Barb Lataillade in 1989. Through discipleship training, church ministries, child evangelism, and clinical healthcare, Living Word Ministries provides a unique opportunity to grow in Christ. Located in the rural southeast, Living Word is committed to raising up men and women of God to become leaders in their communities and country.

Living Word has planted churches in 5 different villages on the southern coast of Haiti and surrounding mountain areas. The mission also established a medical clinic. The mission “hub” or compound is in Mayette, where churches and pastors conferences are held in the large conference center. Patrick and Barb have served together on the field for over 25 years. Patrick serving as pastor/teacher to the pastor of 5 church plants by Living Word. Barb worked in the office, hosted mission teams, and provided medical needs.

Since the 2010 earthquake, there have been changes in the ministry. Patrick and Barb are earthquake survivors and are now both amputees. Patrick lost his right arm and Barb her right leg. But in spite of the challenges, Patrick continues the work. He travels to Haiti often, while Barb works the office in the Miami, FL area.
